CHILDREN'S BIBLE STUDY

Children's Bible Study is Atlanta Inner-City Ministry's largest weekly outreach.

Every Tuesday evening, our bus provides transportation to 45-50 elementary school children living in our community. Once they arrive at our facility, volunteers serve each one a hot meal, we spend time learning an important principle from scripture, and they spend time in volunteer led Small Groups.

HOW YOU CAN SERVE

It takes a lot of people to serve these kids each week. From our kitchen team, to our small group leaders, to our bus team, we need everyone to ensure a safe, effective, and fun environment.

SMALL GROUP LEADERS

Tuesdays from 6:30pm - 8:45pm

Our CBS Small Group Leaders are responsible for leading a small group of children in activities, games, and Bible Lessons.

Small Group Leaders are expected to serve once a month, and are assigned the same group of children each month.

KITCHEN TEAM

Tuesdays from 6:00pm - 7:30pm

Our Kitchen team is responsible for setting up our eating area, preparing, warming, and serving food, and cleaning up the kitchen and eating area after.

Kitchen Team members are expected to serve once a month.

Bus Team

Tuesdays from 5:30pm - 9:00pm

Our Bus Team ensures the safe transportation of our children to and from their homes/communities. This team consists of CDL bus drivers, Bus Captains, and individuals willing to ride the bus to help maintain order.

Bus Team Members are expected to serve once a month.

Crowd Control/Floaters

Tuesdays from 6:30pm - 8:30pm

With so many kids coming through our doors each week, we need adult volunteers who are willing to be a presence among our kids, and help to keep order and peace.

Crowd Control volunteers are expected to serve once a month.

  • What are the requirements to serve at CBS?
In short, we have three requirements for individuals wishing to serve at CBS: Age, Background Check, and Policy & Statement of Faith Agreement. For more information on these requirements, click HERE.
  • Is there an age limit to serve at CBS?
We invite all ages to volunteer at CBS, however any volunteer under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult. That adult is responsible for ensuring that their child is safe and supervised for the duration of their volunteer shift. For more information regarding our volunteer requirements, please click HERE.
  • What is the schedule for CBS?
In general, CBS follows the Atlanta Public Schools academic calendar. Meaning, during major school breaks or holidays, we do not host regular CBS programing at our building. We do, however, host special events and outreaches for our kids on these weeks. We communicate these opportunities to volunteers as they become available.
  • How do we know what we're talking about in Small Group?
At the beginning of each month, Small Group Leaders receive their materials for the month, giving them ample time to review and prepare for their week. All physical material needed for the week's activities will be provided by Atlanta Inner-City Ministry.
